It’s Birdwalk Time Again!

Join the Friends of Shoal Harbour (FOSH) in celebrating the varied bird life we enjoy here on the Saanich Peninsula!.  Many species of shorebirds and waterfowl choose to live here all year while others overwinter here but breed elsewhere. It is always a good time to celebrate the presence of birds among us. Watch for the announcement of the All Buffleheads Celebration in mid-October.

This is an invitation to participate in a guided bird-watching stroll along the waterfront Scoter Trail in North Saanich from 2:00 to 3:00 pm on Sunday, April 24, followed by refreshments, conversation and entertainment at St. John’s United Church (address below) from 3:15 to 4:30 pm.

The walk will start (rain or shine) from the parking lot of Patricia Bay Park (on West Saanich Road north of the seaplane ramp). Rendezvous there at 2:00 pm sharp..

The “Tea” portion of the event will be held out of doors in the garden at St. John’s United Church (about 2.5 km north of Patricia Bay Park, 10990 West Saanich Road, opposite Deep Cove School) and will start at approximately 3:15 pm. Light refreshments will be served and there will be opportunities to learn about FOSH activities and the nature around us. Bring folding chairs if you can fit them in.
